Notifee posts a message in your Discord server when a creator you follow uploads, premieres or goes live. This page describes everything it stores to do that, why, and for how long. It applies to the dashboard at notifee.in and to the Notifee bot.
What we get from Discord
Signing in uses Discord, which asks for three things: identify, email and guilds. From those we store:
- your Discord user id, username and avatar;
- your email address, used to recognise your account and to contact you about the service;
- the list of servers where Discord says you hold Manage Server, so the dashboard can show you the right ones;
- the access and refresh tokens Discord issues, so we can re-check that list without asking you to sign in again;
- for each sign-in, the IP address and browser user agent Discord's redirect arrived with.
Notifee never reads your messages, never posts as you, and asks for no permission to do either. It posts as the Notifee bot, in the channel a server manager chose.
What the bot stores about a server
- the server's Discord id, name and icon;
- which creators it follows, on which platforms, and for which kinds of event;
- the channel each notification goes to, the role to mention, and the message template;
- a record of each notification: what was posted, when, the resulting Discord message id, and — when something went wrong — the reason;
- for privileged actions taken by our staff, an audit entry recording who did what, when, and the IP address it came from.
How long we keep it
- Notification history and audit entries: 90 days. Older rows are deleted automatically every day.
- Server data: 30 days after the bot is removed. Remove Notifee and its trackers, settings and history are deleted after that period — which also means adding it back within 30 days restores them.
- Your account: until you ask us to delete it. Signing out ends the session; it does not delete the account.
- Short-lived caches in Redis, measured in minutes, that hold nothing you have not already seen above.
YouTube
Notifee uses YouTube API Services to tell when a channel you follow has uploaded, scheduled a premiere or gone live. By using Notifee you are also agreeing to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
What we request from YouTube is public information about the channels a server follows, and nothing about you:
- channel id, title and avatar;
- video id, title, description, thumbnail and publication time;
- whether a video is live, upcoming or a premiere, its scheduled start, its duration and its viewer count while live.
Notifee never asks you to sign in with Google, and holds no Google or YouTube account credentials, tokens or personal data. It reads YouTube with its own API key. Because nothing of yours is authorised to us, there is nothing of yours for us to lose.
We keep the public channel details above only while at least one server follows that channel, and delete them when the last tracker for it is removed. Information about what was posted is kept for 90 days, as described above. If you have ever granted a Google account permission to an application and want to withdraw it, you can do so at Google's security settings.
Who else is involved
- Discord — identity, the servers you manage, and delivery of every notification.
- YouTube — see the section above. Requests come from us, not from you.
- Twitch — we read public information about the streamers a server follows, and receive notifications when one goes live. Requests come from us, not from you.
- Cloudflare — sits in front of the site and sees the traffic reaching it.
- Our hosting and database providers — they hold the data described above on our behalf.
We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising, and the site carries no third-party analytics or tracking scripts. The only cookie is the one that keeps you signed in.
Your choices
- Stop the bot by removing it from a server. After 30 days everything about that server is gone.
- Revoke our access to Discord in Discord's authorised applications settings, which stops us refreshing your server list.
- Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion by emailing [email protected] from the address on your account. We answer within 30 days.
Children
Discord requires its users to be at least 13, or older where local law says so. Notifee is not intended for anyone younger.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that affects what we collect or how long we keep it, the date at the top changes and the dashboard will say so.
